LOOK: Isko Moreno files COC, targets Manila mayorship
Thousands of supporters of former Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno flocked to the Manila City Hall on Friday as he announced his intention to run for mayor of the country’s capital.
After taking a three-year hiatus from politics, Moreno is seeking to make a return to the city’s political arena.
Dressed in white, Moreno filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) at around 10 a.m. at the Manila City Hall, together with his running mate, incumbent Manila City Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, who is seeking reelection.
Moreno and Lacuna are running under the banner of “Asenso Manileno.”
Moreno was the first candidate to file his COC for the Manila mayoralty race. Other expected candidates to join the fight are former city mayor Alfredo Lim, and incumbent Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada. /muf
