Parts of Quezon Avenue Westbound from the tunnel of Araneta Avenue up to D. Tuazon Avenue will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to give way to the annual “La Naval de Manila” festivities.
In a traffic advisory by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday, at least 30,000 devotees are expected to participate in the grand procession of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (Sto. Domingo church).
From the Sto. Domingo church, the procession will exit the east gate, turn left at Sto. Domingo St., left Dapitan St., left D. Tuazon, left Quezon Avenue, then back to Sto. Domingo Church.
Motorists are advised to take the following routes:
- From Quezon Avenue West bound, all vehicles turn left to Araneta Avenue, right ERB to Welcome Rotunda and destination
- Or from Quezon Avenue West bound, turn right Araneta Avenue, left Maria Clara St., left Mayon St. to Welcome Rotunda and destination
- They may extend further along Araneta Avenue, turn left Amoranto Sr. St., and left at Mayon St. to Welcome Rotunda and destination
The east bound of Quezon Avenue will not be affected by the procession. Thus, the usual traffic flow will remain as it is except several affected U-turn slots. /muf
