FEATURED STORIES

The rampaging Petron Blaze Boosters try to pick up from they left off last month as they shoot for their seventh straight win against sister-team Barangay Ginebra Kings today in the main game of the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Boosters went unbeaten last month, winning all six assignments that greatly helped their sudden surge.

With nine wins and three losses, the Boosters are at solo first place in the team standings and one of the favorites to secure one of the two twice-to-beat edges in the playoff round.

Sister-team B-Meg Llamados somehow helped the Boosters claim the overall lead after they trampled former leader Talk ‘N Text, 114-104, last Tuesday.

The Tropang Texters dropped to second place with an 8-3 (win-loss) card followed by the Llamados at 8-4.

The Kings will try to end Petron’s string of victories and start the own run.

Sporting an even 5-5 record, the Kings are coming off an 85-77 win over the struggling Alaska Aces.

In the first game, the Powerade Tigers gun for their third straight victory against the Meralco Bolts.

After a string of defeats, the Tigers have finally gotten back on track by winning their last two games, including an impressive 131-96 trashing of the Texters. Before that upset win over Talk ‘N Text, Powerade manhandled the Shopinas.com Clickers, 102-84.

The Bolts are currently tied at fourth place with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 7-5. Meralco is still recovering from a sorry 75-76 loss against Petron.
