Former Makati mayor Junjun Binay revealed on Friday that he has not been talking to his sister, Makati Mayor Abigail Binay for some three months now.
“We don’t really see her,” he said in an ambush interview as he accompanied his sister, Senator Nancy Binay, at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters in Manila.
“The last time we spoke was during my birthday, July 12,” Junjun added.
When pressed where Makati Mayor Abigail Binay is right now, he said: “I have no idea.”
As to the question why he went with Senator Nancy Binay in going to the Comelec headquarters, Junjun said that there was no one in their family to accompany the senator.
“I’m her brother, wala naman ibang sasama sa kanya ngayon dahil wala ‘yung parents namin,” he said.
Former Vice President Jejomar Binay and his wife Elenita are now in a pilgrimage in Italy and are set to return in the country over the weekend.
Junjun also reiterated the initial statement of Senator Binay that the Binays would discuss the possible rivalry for the Makati mayoralty race between him and his sister Abigail.

Junjun said they could not come out with a decision yet since they have not consulted their parents.
“My mom and dad are arriving tomorrow or Sunday. Hopefully, by that time mapag-usapan na kung ano ang magiging direction for the family,” he said.
“Syempre wala pa ‘yung dad ko, so mahirap naman kung gagalaw kami na hindi ulit nakakapag-usap-usap,” Junjun said.
Junjun also confirmed that there was an agreement that Abigail would serve as the mayor of Makati mayor for only one term.
However, the incumbent mayor of Makati announced that she is running again for the midterm elections as mayor with the blessing of their father.
“Merong ganoong usapan before she filed her certificate of candidacy,” Junjun said.
Meanwhile, Senator Nancy Binay is seeking reelection for the Senate post for the May 2019 midterm elections. /muf
