NINE persons were injured in separate vehicular accidents in northern towns of Cebu yesterday.
Jemrod Cinco, 36; his wife, Cristina, 37; and their two children aged 2 and 3 were injured after the motorcycle they rode on was hit by another motorcycle in barangay Poblacion, Carmen town.
The driver of the other motorcycle, Adrian Rosales, 21, was also injured.
Police said Cinco drove a Yamaha Mio motorcycle with plate 7279-GP. Rosales drove a Suzuki Raider motorcycle with plate number 4086-RB.
Police said Rosales was about to overtake when Cinco suddenly turned left.
The motorcycle riders were thrown off to the road. They were rushed to the Danao District Hospital then moved to a Cebu City hospital
In barangay Marikaban, Sta. Fe town, four persons were wounded when the motorcycle they rode on hit a center island past midnight.
Police said the motorcycle with plate number 7LC-0036 was driven by a 17-year-old boy was drunk during the incident.
Police said the motorcycle was running at high speed when it hit the center island.
Also hurt were backriders Renato Santillan, 30; Romar Amadeo and Apo Tayo. Amadeo and Tayo sustained severe injuries and were unconscious when they brought to the Bantayan District Hospital.
Santillan was supposed to drive but the boy insisted to drive the motorcycle, said PO1 Antonio Rayco of the Sta. Fe police.
The incidents will be investigated further, said police. CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
