Alleged Tarlac weed dealer killed, cop wounded in drug bust

MONCADA, TARLAC – A suspected marijuana dealer was killed in a clash with undercover policemen during a pre-dawn Thursday anti-illegal drugs operation in a village here.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. in Barangay (village) Camposanto 1 Suron, according to police.

Police said Rodolfo Grande Jr., 30, shot PO1 Felicisimo Rosete in the abdomen, prompting other members of the police team to fire back, killing the suspect. Rosete was rushed at a hospital in Paniqui town.

Two sachets containing dried marijuana leaves, and a cigarette box containing four sachets filled with marijuana, were recovered from Grande, who had been under police surveillance for drug dealing. /kga
