The Binays will discuss and try to fix first the reported rift between incumbent Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and former Mayor Jejomar “Junjun” Binay, who appears to be on a collision course in the 2019 elections as both of them are gunning for the city’s mayoralty post.

“As of the moment hindi na muna ako magsasalita dahil pag-uusapan, susubukan naming ayusin para hindi umabot doon sa ganung senaryo,” Senator Nancy Binay told reporters in an interview at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters in Intramuros, Manila on Thursday.
(I will not talk about it at the moment because we will discuss it and try to fix it before it reaches that kind scenario.)
Blood is thicker than water
Like any other normal family, the senator said they also go through this kind of experience.
“Parang… so far… ‘di ba parang normal lang naman din sa isang pamilya yung may mga ganitong pinagdadaanan? So, kumbaga, isa lang ito, like a normal a family,” she said.
(It’s like… so far… isn’t it normal for a family to go through this kind of situation?
“Basta ako, at the end of the day, kahit ano man yung maging resulta pagkatapos ng May 13, 2019 elections, magkakapamilya,” she added.
(As for me, at the end of the day, whatever is the result of the May 13, 2019 elections, we’re still family.)
The senator was at the Comelec to accompany one of the United Nationalist Alliance’s (UNA) senatorial bet, Atty. Dan Roleda.
Senator Binay, president of UNA, is also seeking re-election next year. /jpv/ac
