Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque denied on Thursday speculations that he resigned from his post two days after President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that he threatened to resign after he was left in the dark about the chief executive’s hospital visit on October 3.
“I have not resigned,” he said in a text message to reporters.
In a separate text message to INQUIRER.net, he said he would still talk to the President before October 15.
“Hindi pa tapos kami ni PRRD (Duterte’s initials). [I will talk to him] before the 15th, hopefully,” he said.
Roque is believed to be eyeing a Senate seat in the 2019 midterm elections but Duterte earlier offered him to be his press secretary as the President wanted to revive the Office of the Press Secretary.
Asked if he has already made a decision about his Senate run, Roque said, “no decision.”
“Still not sure I will run for Senate,” he added. /jpv
