A blaze hit the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City Wednesday early morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
BFP radio officer Jun Diacos said the handicrafts area at the medium security compound was affected by the fire.
He said the fire started at 2:58 a.m. and it was raised to the fourth alarm 36 minutes after.
As of 6:52 a.m., the BFP declared the fire under control.
No one was reported hurt in the incident.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. /cbb
