Earthquakes jolted Surigao del Sur on Monday morning within hours of each other, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
A magnitude 4 quake shook 4 kilometers (km) southwest of Bayabas, Surigao del Sur, at 10:13 a.m.
The tremor of tectonic origin had a depth of 41 km.
Another magnitude 4 quake earlier hit the area at 7:04 a.m. The quake occurred 3 km east of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, at a depth of 28 km.
The Phivolcs reported that no aftershocks or damage were expected from both tremors.
Phivolcs also noted that these earthquakes were not aftershocks of the 4.9 earthquake that earlier struck Surigao del Sur at 5:44 a.m. /cbb
