WATCH: Rescuers try to save baby sperm whale stranded in Florida beach

A baby sperm whale was washed ashore on Flagler Beach, Florida, United States on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

“FBPD Officer Guerrero and other Flagler Beach citizens were there to try and save this baby sperm whale and await Marineland’s arrival,” said Flagler Beach Police Department in a statement shared with the video on Facebook.

Despite the efforts of Officer Guerrero and volunteers, the whale died shortly afterwards, reported The Palm Beach Post on Oct. 4.
