10 hurt after bus slams into concrete post in Zambales
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Ten people, including the driver and the conductor, were injured on Saturday when a passenger bus slammed into a post along the national highway in this town.
The victims were on board an Acebedo Bus that was traveling west at high speed along the national road in Barangay (village) Burgos at 5:35 p.m.
The bus driver, Pablito Fuerte, 62, lost control of its steering wheel, causing the vehicle to overshoot the road, said PO2 Christian Sayson, investigator of San Antonio Municipal Police Station.
The driver failed to step on the break and crashed into a concrete pole before plowing into a fence.
The injured passengers were identified as Richie Pascasio, 42; John Angel Pascasio, 8; Corazon Peralta, 67; William Perlas, 31; Michael Angelo Rabanal, 31; Alma Damaso, 41; and Adelaida Olegario, 36.
They all sustained minor injuries and were brought to a Rural Health Unit for treatment.
