CAUAYAN CITY— A grassfire engulfed the bushes at the sides of the runway of the Cauayan airport in San Fermin village for almost four hours on Friday night, fire investigators said.
Fire Officer 1 Francis Decena, Cauayan fire protection bureau spokesperson, said no one was hurt and the runway was not damaged by the blaze, which started at 8 p.m.
The fire was put out at 11:50 p.m.
Five firetrucks from the Cauayan fire department, the local first responders group Rescue 922 and the Filipino-Chinese Chamber Volunteers Fire Brigade helped quench the fire. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
