Arellano University suspends classes due to chemical spill in Manila

The Arellano University in Manila suspended on Saturday all of its classes, including other school activities, following a chemical spill happened early morning when a container truck containing hazardous liquid crashed into an L300 van near the university premises in Manila.

Reports said that while traversing Legarda near the vicinity of Arellano University, the driver of the container truck allegedly lost control of the wheels that led to its crash.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada announced in his Twitter account that the cancellation of school activities was prompted by the recommendations of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

This is to prevent another accident brought about by the spill.

The truck was reported carrying a hazardous chemical and spilled in front of the university entrance gate.
