4 alleged drug pushers fall in Lucena buy-busts

LUCENA CITY – Four alleged drug pushers were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations in Lucena City on Friday, police said.

Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director said anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed Nelson Romero, 43, after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer who posed as the buyer in the bust in Barangay (village) 5 at around 11:20 p.m.

De Guzman yielded 10 plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 14.92 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P27,602. The seized shabu is worth P74,600 in the streets at P5,000 per gram, police said.

Police said De Guzman, a resident of Gen. Trias, Cavite, is one of the few remaining sources of shabu in the city.

Earlier, anti-narcotics agents also nabbed Jay Cris Barlan, Rexcela Vender and Leopoldo Argame, in another buy-bust operation inside a lodging house in Barangay 6.

Seized from the suspects were six sachets of shabu weighing two grams with an estimated DDB value of P3,718.  /muf
