The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is planning to ask shopping mall operators to change their opening hours to lessen heavy traffic during the holidays.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said he will meet with mall owners to move their business hours to 11 a.m. from the regular opening at 10 a.m. and the closing hours could also be adjusted.
“Pinatawag natin yung mall owners natin kasi ‘ber’ months na ulit. So hihilingin na namin ulit sa kanila yung mall opening nung mga malls na from 10 a.m. gawing 11 a.m. then yung closing bahala sila, pwedeng 9 p.m. or 10 p.m.,” Garcia said in a press briefing on Friday.
(We are calling all mall owners because we are in the ‘ber’ months once again. We would like to ask them again to move their mall opening from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and it is up to them to adjust the closing hours, it could be from 9 p.m. or 10 p.m.) /jpv
