A U-turn slot at Don Antonio along Commonwealth Avenue will be closed for two months starting this Saturday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Friday.

MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said it will be closed at 10 p.m. due to a planned construction of an abutment station for the Metro Rail Transit-7 (MRT-7).

Garcia added that the closure is a long-term solution to give way for the construction of the public transport.

“Kailangan talaga nating magtiyaga para sa Build Build Build, eto yung long-term solution para sa mass transportation, (We need to sacrifice for the Build Build Build program, this is a long-term solution for the mass transportation.)“ Garcia told the reporters in a press briefing.

The MRT-7 line is expected to be finished by the end of 2019. It will have an elevated transit line spanning 22.8 kilometers from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan to North Avenue in Quezon City. /muf
