3 foreign students, 1 Filipino, nabbed for ‘pot session’ in Cavite campus
SAN PEDRO CITY – Four college students, three of them foreign nationals, were arrested after they were caught in a pot session inside the university premises in Silang town in Cavite province.
Brendon Ncube, Muleta Mutakatala, and Shaundre Cairncross, all African nationals, and Filipino Sandy Oliver Lazaro, would undergo inquest proceedings for drug charges, Silang police chief Supt. Resty Soriano said on Friday.
This was after the school security personnel and the local police caught them while allegedly smoking marijuana inside a restroom around 9 p.m. Thursday at the Adventist University of the Philippines, where all four were enrolled.
“Prior (to the arrest), the (school) security and their guidance (office) coordinated with us that there were some students doing drugs (inside the campus at night),” Soriano said in a phone interview.
He said the police recovered a small plastic bag that contained suspected marijuana from the suspects.
Soriano said it would be up to the court to decide if they would deport the foreign students.
