LUCENA CITY – A suspected dealer of shabu (crystal meth) fell in a Lucena City buy-bust operation Thursday, police said.
Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said anti-illegal drugs agents nabbed Jeffrey William Basilio inside the Marville subdivision in Barangay (village) Kanluran Mayao at around 5:10 p.m.
Seized from De Guzman were seven plastic sachets of shabu weighing 15.15 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P28,027. Police said the seized shabu is worth P75,000 in the streets at P5,000 per gram.
Police said the suspect is listed in the Quezon province drug watch list and is tagged as one of the few remaining street-level drug pushers in the city.
On Tuesday, police also arrested Ronnel Carandang who was also tagged by police as a big-time distributor of shabu.
Carandang yielded 16 plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 242.74 grams and worth more than P1.2 million in the streets. /muf
