Even President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to win the P849-million jackpot prize in the lotto.
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said the President also placed his bet for the Ultra Lotto 6/58 game.
Go said this was not the first time the President placed his bet for the lotto.
“Nung last time po, 18 po yung combinations na pinataya niya sa akin last week. Hindi nanalo. Hanapin ko yung resibo, nandito pa eh,” he told reporters in a phone patch interview.
(Last time, he asked me to place a lotto bet for 18 combinations, last week. It did not win. I will look for the receipt, it is still here somewhere.)
Go said he also placed his own bet.
“Actually, ako dalawa last week tapos siya 18. Kasi nag-usap nga kami, sabi ko malay mo manalo tayo dahil si Mayor Digong, nung Mayor siya nanalo siya e,” he said.
(Actually, I have two [bets] last week and then he has 18. We already talked about it that maybe we’ll win, because Mayor Digong, when he was still mayor, he won.)
“Mamaya nagpapataya na naman siya ng bago [Later, he will again place a new set of bets],” he added.
Asked if what will the President do with the money if he wins.
“Wala naman siyang sinabi kung ano gagawin niya. Pero malay mo sabi niya pag swertehin tayo [He hasn’t said anything on what to do with it. But maybe, we’ll get lucky],” he said.
Go said the President placed his bet in an undisclosed lotto outlet in Metro Manila. /jpv
