A court stenographer was arrested in Mandaluyong City for allegedly taking photos of her co-workers with her cellphone inside a courtroom while a case was being heard.

Maricel Maravilla, 53, is now facing a complaint for unjust vexation after she allegedly took the photos of her seven co-workers inside the courtroom of the Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court Branch 212 – without their knowledge and consent.

According to complainants Atty. Jofre Andrion, Victorio Pascual, Carmencita Sadaya, Brigette Palaroan, Nerrisa Barrometro, John Kevin Guillen and Rosario Santos, they caught Maravilla taking their photos using her cellphone.

The complainants said they were intimidated and threatened by Maravilla’s act. They presented as evidence a closed-circuit television footage that showed Maravilla taking their photos with her cellphone.

Police Supt. Moises Villaceran Jr. of the Mandaluyong City Police said Maravilla did not say why she took the photos of her co-workers inside the courtroom.  /muf
