Almost a month after the exclusive Ayala-Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City was declared “drug-cleared,” antinarcotics operatives seized P7.2 million worth of high-grade marijuana from two residents on Sunday night.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon arrested Joshua Ramon Jimenez, 34 and Sarah Dominguez, 24, during a raid on a house on Agoncillo Street around 8:30 p.m.
Seized from the live-in partners who were reportedly having a pot session during the operation were 6 kilos of “kush” or high-grade marijuana with a street value of P7.2 million, in addition to drug paraphernalia.
PDEA-Central Luzon said the couple were high-value targets who repack and resell the kush imported from California to high-end customers and celebrities.
On Sept. 7, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and PDEA declared Barangay Ayala Alabang the first drug-cleared barangay in Muntinlupa City.
Under DDB Regulation No. 3, series of 2017, for a barangay to be considered cleared of drugs, there should be no drug dens or laboratories, as well as zero drug users, pushers, dependents, protectors and financiers, among others.
