LOOK: Inday Sara bets on P800-M Lotto; to ‘donate’ P121M for Trillanes’ legal fees if she wins

Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Tuesday tried her luck for the over P800-million Lotto pot, and then mocked opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, whom she plans to “donate” P121 million “for legal fees” if she wins.

The prize for Ultra Lotto 6/58 of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has breached the P800-million mark, drawing more people – from all walks of life – to place their bets on it.

In an Instagram post, Ms. Duterte showed her lotto ticket and captioned her photo with a list of people she plans to bestow money if she wins the lottery.

At the bottom of the list was Trillanes. She said she would give him P121 million for his legal fees.

Trillanes is facing a legal battle over the revocation of his amnesty.

President Rodrigo Duterte on August 31 issued Proclamation No. 572, revoking the amnesty given to his staunch critic by the previous administration. The order asserted that Trillanes’ amnesty is voided ab initio because the senator failed to file an application for it and admit his guilt for two failed mutinies against then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Subsequently, a Makati court issued an arrest warrant against the senator for rebellion over his participation in the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege. Trillanes posted a P200,000-bail for his temporary freedom.

Another Makati court is due to rule whether Trillanes should be arrested for a coup d’état charge over the 2003 Oakwood mutiny. /kga
