Ceiling of Pasay mall collapses during heavy rain

SM Supermalls confirmed that a part of a ceiling of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City collapsed on Tuesday as heavy rainfall hit Metro Manila and other nearby areas.

“Due to the strong rains today, an isolated area of the ceiling in SM Mall of Asia was damaged,” SM said in a statement posted on their official Facebook account.

SM Supermalls added that there is ongoing maintenance on the affected area and there were no reported fatalities during the incident.

“The area has been temporarily cordoned off for the safety of our customers while maintenance activities are ongoing. No one was hurt during the incident. The mall is in normal operations,” SM Supermalls said. /je
