After swift heavy rains hit many parts of Metro Manila, floodwater crept into Farmers Plaza in Cubao, Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.
In a video posted by Dennelle Paragas on Facebook, mall-goers on the upper floors were looking down to witness floodwater gushing into the shopping center as employees try to move merchandises to safety.
Another netizen, Iza Labrague, posted on her Facebook, photos of the flooded mall.
Labrague told INQUIRER.net she saw floodwater inflowing around 2:10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the management of Farmers Plaza said the “very heavy mid-afternoon rains brought unexpected, unprecedented flooding inside our mall.”
The management assured it “immediately began dewatering operations” to ensure that normal operations will resume for its lessees and mall-goers.
“The water was removed within an hour after heavy rains stopped,” it said in a statement. /kga
