Heavy rain inundated several areas in Metro Manila on Tuesday afternoon, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
As of 3 p.m., the MMDA said the following areas are submerged in gutter-deep flood:
- Tuazon tunnel, both northbound and southbound
- Edsa Quezon Avenue, northbound
- Kamuning Edsa, northbound
- East Avenue, westbound
- Aurora, northbound
- Ortigas Ilalim, southbound
- Tomas Morato exit (Quezon City)
- Aurora cor. Araneta in front of CCP
- Roxas Boulevard-Edsa
- Chino Roces Avenue (Makati City)
According to MMDA’s estimate, gutter-deep flood means 8-10 inches of water, which is however still passable for all types of vehicles.
Moreover, the MMDA also monitored tire-deep flood, which is 12-20 inches high and not passable for light vehicles, at the following locations in Quezon City:
- Edsa Centris
- Panay Avenue
- Timog corner Scout Tobias
- Araneta Avenue-Ma. Clara Street
- Edsa-Pasong Tamo tunnel
A knee-deep flood (more than 20 inches high) was also monitored by the traffic agency along the northbound section of Edsa-Santolan service road and Samar Avenue corner Mother Ignacia Street in Quezon City.
