A southbound train of the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) suffered a glitch Sunday morning that resulted in the offloading of 400 passengers at the Ayala station.

According to the advisory, the MRT-3 train suffered an “electrical failure in the motor” at 8:18 a.m.

One cause of the electrical failure is “worn-out electrical sub-components such as the main chopper, regulator, and insulator.”

Affected passengers boarded another train that arrived six minutes later.

The management said preventive maintenance check would be done and the faulty electrical components replaced.

The last offloading incident at the MRT-3 was recorded on September 27, which was also due to “electrical failure”

That glitch led to more than 500 passengers being offloaded at the Cubao station. /cbb
