Magdalo assures AFP ‘they won’t join any destab plot’ – military official

The Magdalo group of staunch administration critic Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has assured the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) they are not part of alleged plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte, a ranking military official revealed Friday.

AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Brig. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr., said he had a talk with Magdalo party-list founding leader Rep. Gary Alejano, who “affirmed” they will not participate in any destabilization plot.

“Sinabihan na ako ni Congressman Alejano, pumasyal sila sa amin […] he affirmed that they won’t join any destabilization plot,” Parlade disclosed during the Nanka Media Forum in Quezon City.

Mr. Duterte earlier accused the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), Magdalo group, and his political rivals of conniving to unseat him.
