The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Friday that there will be no extension of the voter registration period after the last day on Sept. 29.
Voting registration resumed last July 2 in preparation for the May 2019 National Elections as per Resolution 10392 dated June 19.
Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez advised applicants to be patient due to the expected long queues in the last days of registration.
“We call on the public to exercise patience as long queues are to be expected in the last few days of registration. However, the Comelec assures members of the vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities, heavily pregnant women that priority lanes would be provided for them,” Jimenez said in a statement.

Applications are filed personally at the offices of the election officer of cities, districts or towns where the applicants reside.
Registration sites will be open at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Other satellite registration activities are posted in the Comelec official Facebook page. /muf
