The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a Chinese national and five others after undocumented high-powered firearms were found in their possession.
Ke Be I, a.k.a. Lili Ong; Brandy Solinap, Victor Dela Cruz, Bi-Lian Ke, Diosdado Bohol, and Ke Quiao, aka Sam Jany, were arrested in a farm in Bo. Road, Pantay Buhangin, Barangay Dalig, Teresa, Rizal.
The search warrant was issued by Manila Executive Judge Thelma Bunyi-Medina.
A case for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Act, will be filed against them.
Answering reporters’ questions in broken Filipino, Ong said she was the general manager of a poultry farm where the undocumented firearms were recovered by agents of the NBI Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) under lawyer Emeterio Dongallo Jr.
NBI spokesman lawyer Ferdinand Lavin said forensic investigation will be undertaken on the six VHF-UHF two-way radio transmitters, an M203 grenade launcher, four M653 baby armalite rifles, two grenades, five 12-gauge shotguns, three .45, .38, and 9-mm pistols, and eight cellular phones.
Bohol, a Samar native, was found to be in possession of another shotgun and was nabbed at a small hut on top of a hill behind the farm’s main house. Ke Quiao Li and Ke Be I were arrested at the main house. /ee
