PNP to fill 4,000 vacancies for line officers, criminologists

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is looking to beef up its personnel and is currently in the process of filling 4,014 vacancies for line officers and criminologists, its Public Information Office (PIO) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The PNP-PIO said 7,205 candidates from qualified Police Non-Commissioned Officers on active duty  took the written examinations on Sunday in various sites in Angeles City, Pampanga, Lucena City, Quezon, Cebu City, Davao City, and Taguig City.

On the other hand, the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) said the PNP Lateral Entry Board is now preparing the Psychiatric Psychological Examination (PPE)  of the candidates, which will be held from October 20 to November 20, 2018.

Applicants who would pass the screening would then take their oaths as line officers before PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on March 4, 2019.

The PNP said that this is done to ensure transparency and the integrity of its administrative processes, particularly in the recruitment and selection of personnel to eliminate opportunities for irregular and illegal practices. /ee
