2 senators warn against Arroyo ‘fake death’, ‘ambush me’ scenarios
MANILA, Philippines — Two senators warned Thursday that former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo might fake her death next time or create an “ambush me” scenario to generate sympathy from the public.
“First, they faked the ballots of 2004 and 2007 elections. Next, they faked the seriousness of her state of health only to be burned by the testimonies other doctors. Now, they are faking death threats on her by an incredibly ludicrous oplan complete with a funny code name,” Senator Panfilo Lacson said in a text message.
“ I hope they will not resort to faking her death next time. Hindi na nila maloloko ang taumbayan,” Lacson said, reacting to the alleged “Oplan: Put the little girl to sleep.”
Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero expressed hopes that Arroyo camp would not resort to “ambush me” scenario next time.
“If indeed there are threats, they should name names and specify their source and file the necessary cases against those who are supposedly behind it. It is very irresponsible to just say that there is a plot based on nothing,” Escudero said in a separate text message.
