Trader, woman shot dead in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A businessman and a 19-year-old woman were killed in two separate shooting incidents on Tuesday in Pangasinan province, police said on Wednesday.

James Igros, 42, died while being treated in a hospital in Sison town after a still unidentified gunman shot him several times, according to SPO1 Jonathan Lalata, Sison police investigator.

Igros was talking to a client in Barangay Camangaan in Sison at 1:20 p.m. when a man approached him and asked him if he was the one who builds steel gates.

When Igros acknowledged, the man pulled out a gun from his waist and fired.

In Agno town, Cristina Arig died instantly after she was shot in the back by her partner Michael Sison.

Agno police investigator PO3 John Clifford Martin said Arig had an argument with Sison inside their house in Barangay Macaboboni about 5:30 p.m.

Arig ran outside the house when Sison was about to hit her. She was barely 10 meters outside when Sison shot her.

She was taken to the town’s Rural Health Unit but a doctor there declared her dead on arrival.

Sison is now the subject of a manhunt operation.
