MANILA, Philippines — Authorities are ensuring tight security at the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 on Thursday when the motions for former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s continued stay at the St. Luke’s Medical Center or her house arrest would be heard.
Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson, Southern Police District spokesman, said that Pasay City police were deployed to the area and were augmented by officers from the SPD’s District Public Safety Battalion.
The Pampanga representative was arrested last November 18 on charges of electoral sabotage but has since remained hospitalized due to a bone disease.
