The trust and approval ratings of President Rodrigo Duterte suffered a huge decline in the September 2018 survey of Pulse Asia released on Tuesday.
The survey, conducted from September 1 to 7, showed Duterte’s approval rating at 75 percent from his previous 88 percent in June 2018, suffering a 13-point drop.
The President’s trust rating also went down from 87 percent to 72 percent, a 15-point drop from his June 2018 rating.
Interviewed in the survey were 1, 2000 adult respondents nationwide, Duterte’s ratings dropped across all geographic areas and economic classes, where the biggest drops were in Luzon and Class D.
In the same survey, the trust rating of Vice President Ma. Leoner “Leni” Robredo did not change while her approval rating barely moved.
Robredo’s trust rating did not move at 56 percent from his June 2018 mark.
Her approval rating slightly moved from 62 percent in June 2018 to 61 percent in September 2018.
The survey was conducted after the government announced the record-high 6.4 percent inflation in August and after Duterte released Proclamation 572, voiding the presidential amnesty of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.
