SANTA MARIA, Isabela — A motorcycle passenger was killed while two others were hurt in a road accident in Barangay Bangad here on Saturday.
A belated police report stated that the motorcycle overtook a truck, but it hit a pedestrian, swerved and fell, and was run over by the truck, killing the back rider, Rody Bacud, 18.
Inspector Carlito Manibog, Santa Maria deputy police chief, said the motorcycle driver, Jericson Mabazza, 19, is now being treated at a hospital and is in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the 14-year-old pedestrian, Miles Manibug, suffered broken limbs.
Truck driver Ricardo Romiro, 27, surrendered to the police. /ee
