Various activist groups flocked on Friday to España Boulevard to commemorate the 46th martial law anniversary.

Members of transport groups, student activists, farmers, religious groups carried placards and banners condemning martial law which was declared in 1972 by the late President Ferdinand Marcos.

The Manila Police District estimated the number of protesters gathered in front of University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila at 1,200.

The protesters will march to Mendiola after their assembly at UST. /muf
