The cost of the damage that Typhoon “Ompong” (internationally known as “Mangkhut”) caused on the country’s roads and bridges has already reached to close to P2.3 billion, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday.

To date, 30 road sections, mostly in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), remain closed to traffic as clearing operations were still ongoing.

Following are the roads that remain impassable:

Benguet

Ifugao

Abra

Kalinga

Apayao

Pangasinan

Central Luzon, four road sections in Pampanga were also affected by the typhoon:

These roads were closed due to landslides, mud flow and damaged slope protection, as well as the presence of fallen trees and rock debris in the area. /atm
