Three foreigners will be deported for overstaying in the country, the Bureau of Investigation (BI) said on Wednesday.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the three were caught in separate operations in Pasig and Cavite.

“They will be deported for overstaying, as these foreign nationals never bothered to extend their stay when their tourist visa expired,” Morente said in a statement.

BI Acting Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said  two British nationals Kevin Hadfield, 68, and Kevin Stanley Eifert, 67, were nabbed on Sept. 3 in Bacoor town and Dasmariñas City in Cavite province, respectively. Both have been overstaying in the country since 2008.

Meanwhile, an American national, Todd Null, 49, was also arrested last Sept. 3 for overstaying in the country since 2015.

Morente reminded foreigners staying in the country to update and ensure the validity of their visas.

“Foreigners staying in the Philippines have a responsibility to ensure that their visas are valid and updated,” he said. /ee
