President Rodrigo Duterte appointed new officials to oversee the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), the Emergency 911 National Office under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the post vacated by Cesar Montano at the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).

Duterte appointed Catherine Maceda as ERC commissioner on September 11. She will serve until July 2025, according to appointment papers released by Malacañang on Monday.

Maceda replaced Alfredo Non who retired as ERC commissioner on July 10.

Duterte also named retired police chief superintendent Diosdado Valeroso as executive director of the Emergency 911 National Office, the lead implementor of the nationwide emergency number.

Meanwhile, the President named Marie Venus Tan as director of the TPB, replacing Montano who vacated the post over the culinary tourism program mess.

Tan would serve Montano’s unexpired term that began on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.

Duterte’s other appointees were assigned to the Departments of Environment and Natural Resources, National Defense, Finance, Agrarian Reform and Foreign Affairs. /ee
