Drug suspect killed in Tondo anti-drug ops

A drug suspect was killed in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Tondo, Manila on Sunday.

Authorities identified the suspect only as alias “Buknoy.”  The operation, led by PSI Alfred V. Tan Jr., was conducted in Barangay 20, Pier 2, Parola Compound in Tondo.

Based on the police report, the suspect noticed that the ‘buyer,’  PO1 Jerry Saratobias, was a police officer and immediately pulled out a caliber 9mm pistol and shot Saratobias.

Saratobias, however, dodged the shot and fired back at the, who reportedly fell to the ground. He was immediately rushed to Gat Andres Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

One caliber 9mm without serial number, a magazine loaded with four live ammunitions, one black leather pouch enclosing 10 pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, a P500 bill marked money, a P100 bill, a disposable green lighter, and one piece of a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (chrystal meth) were recovered from the scene. /ee
