Rookie cop caught selling ‘shabu’ in Davao
A rookie policeman was arrested on Thursday for selling drugs to undercover agents in a village in Davao City, police said on Friday.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, Southern Mindanao police regional chief, said PO1 Cris John Ferido was arrested after handing some P3,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover policeman during a sting operation in Talomo village on Thursday.
Ferido, 30, of Tagum City, was in training in Davao City at the time of his arrest.
Ferido admitted he had been using and selling drugs since he was in college. —Frinston Lim
‘Ompong’ cancels top Chinese exec’s visit
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has postponed his scheduled three-day visit to the Philippines because of Typhoon “Ompong,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday.
