More than a thousand families in Quezon City have been affected by Typhoon “Ompong.”
As of 1 p.m. on Saturday, Quezon City has set up a total of 37 evacuation centers sheltering with a total of 1,415 families, or 5,761 individuals.
No casualties have been reported in the city.
The local government has 186 search-and-rescue personnel on standby.
Rainfall brought by the typhoon have flooded the following areas in Quezon City:
- Banawe Retiro to Biak na Bato, Barangay Siena – not passable to light vehicles
- West River Side, Barangay Del Monte – knee deep, not passable to light vehicles
- Tumana Greenland
- Gumamela Street, Barangay Roxas – 3 feet not passable to all types of vehicles)
- Araneta/Victory – not passable to all types of vehicles
