Veteran tourism exec to head TPB

President Duterte has appointed a veteran tourism official to head the controversy-ridden Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).

Maria Venus Tan, formerly the Department of Tourism director for the Cordillera Administrative Region, took over as TPB chief starting on Wednesday.


Recommended by Tourism Secretary Bernadette Puyat, Tan will head an agency that had wrestled with allegations of corruption under its erstwhile head, actor Cesar Montano.—KRIXIA SUBINGSUBING
