Stranded passengers at various ports due to ‘Ompong’ now over 2,800
A total of 2,828 passengers were stranded on Thursday in the National Capital Region, Bicol, Eastern and Southern Visayas ports due to Typhoon “Ompong.”
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that as of 12 p.m., 364 passengers were stranded at the North Harbor port in the National Capital Region (NCR); 692 passengers at the ports of Pasacao, Tabaco, Bulan, Pilar, Matnog, Virac, and San Andres in the Bicol region; while 325 passengers are stranded at Eastern Visayas port areas including the ports of Balwarteco, San Isidro, Jubasan (Northern Samar); and 1,447 passengers at the port of Dumaguete (Western Samar) in Southern Visayas.
