Cebu Pacific cancels most domestic flights due to ‘Ompong’
Cebu Pacific on Thursday announced several flight cancellations scheduled for Friday and Saturday due to the impending effects of typhoon “Ompong” that is threatening most areas in the country.
In its advisory, the airline company said due to typhoon Ompong (international name: Mangkhut), Cebu Pacific and Cebgo would be canceling the following flights:

Affected passengers are advised not to proceed to the airport but instead choose whether they want to rebook their flights, get a full refund or place the cost of the ticket in a Travel Fund for future use.
“Ompong” entered the country Wednesday afternoon packing maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 255 kph.
It is moving westward at 20 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its Thursday severe weather bulletin.
As of 10 a.m., the state weather bureau said that “Ompong” was last spotted at 725 km East of Virac, Catanduanes.
The Manila International Airport Authority and Philippine Airlines earlier announced several cancellations of domestic flights due to the typhoon. /jpv
