A man who allegedly shoplifted nine sports shirts from a mall in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday was arrested by the police.
Initial investigation showed that suspect Mark Lester Pilar, along with two female cohorts entered the store in the mall and posed as customers.
Police said the suspects then lifted and stuffed almost P9,000 worth of sports shirts inside a paper bag and left the store without paying the cashier. A sales clerk who witnessed the incident then called the attention of the security guards on duty.
The guards then seized Pilar and turned him over to the Mandaluyong police. The two other suspects managed to escape, police said.
A complaint for theft is now being readied against Pilar who is detained at the Mandaluyong police headquarters. /muf
