Village chair, son of restaurant owner slain in Ormoc shootout

ORMOC CITY – A village chair and son of the owner of a famous restaurant here were killed in an alleged shootout with police following a buy-bust operation on Tuesday night.

Killed were Peter Ablin, barangay captain of District 16, and Eric Enecio, whose family owned a pastry shop known for its cakes on Bonifacio Street.

Senior Insp. Franklin Romeo Parangan, acting chief of Ormoc police station 3, described the two as high-value targets.

He said a sting operation was conducted on Bonifaco street when both Enecio and Ablin realized that they were dealing with undercover policemen.

Parangan said the two tried to shoot the operatives, prompting the operatives to fire back, killing the two.

At the hospital where the two were brought, the Scene of the Crime Operatives found at least seven sachets of shabu from Enecio.
