#WalangPasok: List of class, work suspensions due to ‘Ompong’

Some local government units have announced class and work suspensions in preparation for the onslaught of Typhoon “Ompong.”

Here’s the list:

Bani, Pangasinan – all levels (Sept. 12)

Ilocos Sur – all levels (Sept. 13 to 14)

Masantol, Pampanga – all levels (Sept. 13 and 14)

Zambales – all levels, public and private (Sept. 13 and 14)

(Olongapo City not covered by the announcement)

Cagayan – all levels; work also suspended, public and private (Sept. 14)

Dagupan City – all levels (Sept. 14 and 15)

Quezon City – all levels, public and private (Sept. 14 to 15)

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 200 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 245 kph.

Ompong has already been categorized as a super typhoon by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center on Tuesday night. –With a report from Consuelo Marquez /muf /kga /atm
