Trillanes laments Duterte’s mention of parents in alleged deals with Navy
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV lamented President Rodrigo Duterte’s allegations that his parents were involved in several transactions with the Philippine Navy.
“Hindi ko maisip kung bakit ida-drag ni Mr. Duterte ang aking magulang dito sa laban namin,” Trillanes said in a press briefing on Tuesday.
[I don’t know why Mr. Duterte will drag my parents in our fight.]
Trillanes said Duterte only mentioned his parents since he “cannot throw anything else” against him, lamenting that his 84-year old mother, who has been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, was even mentioned by the President.
Duterte earlier said during a one-on-one interview with presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo that the senator’s parents had “transactions” with the Philippine Navy.

“Kayong mga sundalo bilib kayo kay Trillanes. Ang tatay niyan nasa serbisyo pa, siya nasa serbisyo… ang transaksyon ang karamihang supply sa Navy, ang nanay niya,” he said.
